i’m so proud of ash

November 29, 2007

when we moved to indy five and a half years ago, ash was fearful of doing almost anything on her own. she was comfortable going to the shopping center across the street, but that was about it. she hated to drive on the interstate. she would gladly drive extra time to her trips in order to avoid interstates. i actually had to work hard to convince her that she could accept a job downtown, that i would drive her a couple of times, but that she would be able to make the drive through traffic on her own.

this week she took her first business trip. she did everything herself. she booked her travel and did her traveling alone. she flew to nyc, hung out at times square, and found her way to random house’s headquarters alone. i personally thought that it would test every one of her last nerves, but she handled it like a pro. to be sure, she was happy to come back home, but i really thought that this trip would get the best of her. i was wrong.

way to go ash. first nyc, next paris and milan!
